Non-Destructive Testing
“Uptest” personnel is using most of NDT methods and is capable of doing any type of inspection client needs.
Methods used:
- VT- visual testing. Used for detecting surface discontinuities which can be seen by naked eye without any (or with minimum) aid.
- MT- magnetic particle testing. This method is suitable for the detection of surface and near surface discontinuities in magnetic material, mainly ferritic steel and iron
- PT- Dye Penetrant Testing. This method is frequently used for the detection of surface breaking flaws in nonferromagnetic materials.
- ET Eddy Current Testing. The main applications of the eddy current technique are for the detection of surface or subsurface flaws (under layer of paint), conductivity measurement and coating thickness measurement.
- UT- Ultrasonic Testing. This technique is used for the detection of internal and surface (particularly distant surface) defects in sound conducting materials.
- Phased Array and TOFD- it is advanced UT method which can be used instead of radiography testing (RT) to find and accurately describe internal and surface breaking flaws.
